Milk and Honey By Rupi Kaur



Being a poet myself, I have forever been in awe of Emily Dickenson, Edgar Allan Poe, Robert Frost, William Wordsworth, just to name a few. Ofcourse, I don't have the audacity to compare the modern day and age poets with these existing constellation of stars, but for me "Milk and Honey" didn't work at all. 

I am not deriding her efforts, but I consider being a poet/author, one holds a certain responsibility towards the readers and above all you, yourself. There are a lot of blank spaces(I didn't feel they were filled with silence at all! but mere contrived spaces) which could have been filled up with  emotions unexplored but yet felt! 

Keeping my poetic soul aside, I wish Rupi Kaur to look into all the reviews, and come up with a better  and inspiring one.

      On my last-minute whim, I grabbed, a story of an erotic love affair between a 15-year-old German boy, Michael Berg, and 35-year-old, Hanna Schmitz ! Suffering from hepatitis and Hanna nurturing him, In due course both develop passionate feelings for each other. They keep their relationship under wraps. <b>The key point</b>  – he would read out to her, and not vice-versa (avoiding spoilers, on why?) The Princess Bride By William Goldman

To help recuperate the sick child (Author William Goldman ), the old father reads out the story of “ The Princess Bride ” by S. Morgenstern to him. Years later, obsessed with the book, determined to procure a copy of it, extensively rummaging through bookshops, William Goldman finally ends up finding an ancient copy of it. He eventually realizes that his father read out only the “ good parts of the story ”, and resorts to opting for the fictional route of writing the abridged story of “The Princess Bride”.   Well going through the extended introduction was wee tedious and boring for me, so I skimmed through it .
